Jan. 27 Update

Well… are you keeping warm?   These days I consider summer appreciation days.  Think of the hot sweltering days of +35…. beaches, sun, fun!!!!  We are always moving closer to spring and beautiful summer weather!

You should have received your registration packages.  With the projected enrollment for next year, it is important to return your package as soon as possible.  Current families have until January 31st to re-register with Open Registration beginning on Monday, February 3rd.  If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to email or call.

On April 9, BSLS will be participating with the RED CROSS DAY OF PINK:  Stand Up for NO Bullying.   BSLS students, faculty and staff may wear their own pink shirt on that day, or official event T-shirts are available for just $5.  All proceeds from the sale of the shirts will go directly into programs to educate Manitoba youth to prevent bullying.   If you are interested in purchasing the official t-shirt, please see the following link, http://www.payitsquare.com/collect-page/23269, to order.  Orders for the official shirt must be in by Wednesday, January 29 with payment options online or at the school office.  More details will follow as we get closer to the event.

Dr. Nobby Woo will be offering a Becoming a Love and Logic Parent® session geared towards parents of teens/ adolescents on Tuesday, February 11 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Please RSVP to Leslie at admissions@bsls.ca

BASC parents: When you are at the door to be buzzed in, please state your name clearly and the names who you are picking up (your child(ren).  If it is unclear through the intercom, you will be asked to repeat yourself.  If, for some reason, it cannot be clearly understood, a staff member will come up to see you at the door before letting you in.  We ask for your patience and understanding in this matter as this is to ensure the safety of the children in our care.  We also please ask that you do not let anyone else in the building without announcing it.  It may seem polite to hold the door open for the next person, but to maintain the safe environment for our children, we need all parents to announce themselves through the intercom.  We thank you for your assistance in this matter immediately.

When dropping off your child in the morning, please only park to the right of the PIP Reserved spot in the back or in the front of the school on the street.  (Do not block the crosswalk)  The staff need the parking spots by the building to plug in their cars for the day.  We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Tomorrow night is the High School Information night from 6:30-8:00.

Please RSVP to Leslie at admissions@bsls.ca if you are planning to attend the Aaron Burnett concert on January 30 at 9:30 am.  The concert should last approximately 1 hour.  Please feel free to invite any of your friends with young children to accompany you.  There will be tours available for any visitors to the school.

Mad Science will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 4 and run until Tuesday, March 25.   Please pick up your child promptly at 4:25 or they will go to the After School Care.
Fundraising Reminders: Please remember  to mention us at the St. Annes M & M’s whenever you make any purchases there (we will receive 10%) and bring in your Tassimo disks.  Tassimo disks can be turned in to the office.
